Community Response Fund

Updates

The JewishColumbus Community Response Fund has raised $1,200,000

We are putting your dollars and resources towards:

  • Helping our local organizations apply for CARES Act funding – 13 organizations have been approved!
  • Purchasing $10K worth of Kroger SCRIP cards specifically to respond to the needs of Jewish community members
  • 5400 meals, delivered to our most vulnerable clients, primarily Holocaust Survivors and seniors, by Jewish Family Services (JFS)
  • Supporting JFS as they help more people navigate unemployment and benefit services and find new jobs

About the Fund

JewishColumbus launched the Community Response Fund to help individuals, families and agencies severely impacted by the COVID-19 Virus.

Together, we have raised over $1,000,000 and have been responding to the needs of our community addressing these four Focus Areas:

FOOD SECURITY
We will enable our Jewish Community Center & Jewish Family Services to increase their capacity to serve more people in need, and provide meals to seniors and other vulnerable populations.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
We will direct funds to agencies that provide essential services to our vulnerable populations, such as home care and emotional support. This includes taking care of the needs of our 225 Holocaust Survivors. We will also help provide funds for prescriptions and other medical needs, when appropriate.
HOUSING SUPPORT
We are closely monitoring the steps that banks, landlords and utility companies take in terms of delayed payment and will help work to address community shortfalls, if appropriate
OPERATIONAL SUBSIDIES
We will help our agencies and institutions survive and continue to support families in need.
