The JewishColumbus Youth Foundation, is an excellent way to experience the grants process first hand. JCYF grants $5,000 or more each year to programs that will make a difference in our local community and beyond. Teens develop the grants program as a team, request project proposals, and evaluate programs for funding over the course of the year.
Since 2008, JCYF has made 30 grants totaling more than $54,000. These grants have supported programs as diverse as the Love & Hugs Bears Program at Zusman Hospice to Environmental Education programs at the Columbus Jewish Day School. Topics addressed by this committee include Jewish Education, Hunger, Summer Camp, Senior Programming, Jewish teen outreach and others. Grants have ranged all the way from $400 to $4,000 in a single award. And teens made it all happen. JCYF is made up of B’nai Tzedek Fund holders.
